We went camping 2 weeks ago on Sandy Lake and ended up heading to Duluth the next day. Camping was fun but the nights were WAY too cold. We LOVED Duluth and I think we may go again this Summer. It is SO beautiful and peaceful! Both kids had a great time and despite being sick, I really enjoyed myself as well. I would love to find another single mom to go on weekends like this with or camping. It actually did not bother me too much this time. It seems I always want someone else to talk to/share these things with but Cody is getting older and he really understands and remembers a lot of what we do now so it seems more rewarding for lack of a better word. This picture is of us on the riverboat cruise we took of Lake Superior.

I forgot how much fun a garden can be...
Cody has been asking me for at least a month now if we can plant flowers and carrots. We have a small square of "dirt" next to our small patio in back of our townhouse. This is my project as the area is a MESS... tons of weeds and weird growths... TRASH under the soil... GROSS. So, this morning I bought some really good soil and Cody and I spent the last hour or so digging up that area. We will do more tonight when we get back home after school. I bought carrots and will start those once I get all of the soil right. We won't be able to start tomatoes and flowers for a month or so I am guessing but it will be ready and look better. We are going to buy a "fence" to put around the edge of the garden today or tomorrow. Cody and Adrienne both have gardening gloves and a little tillers and shovels.
We also bought a birdfeeder last week and I am having a picnic table specially made to fit on my small patio! I am excited! I found several guys on craigslist that build childrens picnic table and one of them is going to custom build me a small area but standard height picnic table. I haven't decided if I will just stain it or paint it?? Any ideas?

Guess what I am getting?
a treadmill! A super nice treadmill with a fan and stereo and all! I am super excited and it is supposed to be delivered on Tuesday morning so I hope to be excercising Tuesday evening. If I am brave enough, I might post some before pics and then pics once a month to show my progress... we will see! ;-)
Beautiful day today!
It started off very cloudy, cold and foggy and I had little hope for the day but true to the weather predictions, it did indeed clear up and it is sunny and in the 50s now. I even opened the windows for a bit to let some fresh air in.

Cody started speech yesterday
and he really likes the therapist. Our goal is to get him articulating correctly by kindergarten and the therapist things this might be possible. Cody thinks it is fun and he will be going twice a week at our local hospital.

Welcome to blog! Can you guess why it is called My Blue Jean Eyes? Yep, Cody and Adrienne have beautiful blue-grey eyes that look very much like the color of blue jeans! They are the joy of my life! This blog is dedicated to them and all the fun and crazy moments they bring to my life.
